Alarms & Fire
Fire alarm systems from mapping and design through city inspection.
Harb designs, installs, tests and maintains commercial fire alarm systems, and partners with city inspectors so your building passes the first time and stays compliant every year after.

Overview
Life safety, handled start to finish by one accountable team.
A fire alarm system has to work on the worst day your building will ever have, and it has to satisfy the inspector on an ordinary Tuesday. Harb handles both. We map the building, design the system to code, install it with our own crews and walk the inspection with the city.
After the install we stay involved with the testing and maintenance your occupancy requires, so compliance is a calendar entry rather than a scramble.

Notification
Horns, strobes and speakers placed so every occupant is alerted, including accessibility-compliant coverage.
Inspection and compliance
We partner with city inspectors through permitting and acceptance testing so the system passes.
Monitoring
Communicators that report alarms and troubles to a monitoring center around the clock.
Testing and maintenance
Scheduled testing, sensitivity checks and repairs that keep the system compliant year after year.

How Harb delivers a fire alarm system
Fire alarms add permits and acceptance testing to the standard steps. We manage that paperwork so you do not have to.
Step 1: Site survey and code review
We walk the building, review drawings and occupancy and identify what the applicable code and your local authority will require.
Step 2: Design, permits and proposal
We map devices and wiring, prepare submittals for the city and price the complete system in writing.
Step 3: Installation and acceptance testing
Harb crews install and wire the system, then test every device with the inspector present for acceptance.
Step 4: Monitoring, testing and maintenance
We connect monitoring, train your staff and schedule the recurring testing your occupancy requires.

FAQ
Questions about fire alarm systems
Still have a question? Call (440) 783-0216 and talk to a technician, not a call center.
Do you handle the city inspection?
Yes. We prepare the submittals, schedule the inspection and are on site to test the system with the inspector. Partnering with city inspections is part of every fire alarm project we take on.
Can you replace an old panel without rewiring the building?
In many cases, yes. We can often reuse existing wiring and devices and replace only the panel and communicator. We inspect what is there first and tell you what is compatible.
How often does the system need testing?
That depends on your occupancy and local requirements. Most commercial systems need annual testing, with more frequent checks for some device types. We put it on a schedule and handle it for you.
Is monitoring required?
For most commercial occupancies, yes: the system must report to a monitoring center. We install the communicator and set up monitoring as part of the project.
Do you also install sprinkler systems?
We install and wire the fire alarm side, including waterflow and tamper monitoring for your sprinkler system, and coordinate with your sprinkler contractor.
