Gates, loops, cameras and plate capture across Metropolis parking sites

A parking operator lives by its lanes. A gate that will not open backs up traffic, and a gate that will not close loses revenue. Multiply that across many garages and lots in different cities, with different layouts, pavement conditions and winters, and the challenge is consistency: every lane needs to behave the same way and be fixable fast.

Metropolis needed a partner that could survey each site, install lane equipment and cameras to a common design, and service all of it without a different vendor in every city.

Harb built a standard lane package: a barrier gate, inductive loops cut into the pavement for vehicle detection, a license plate capture camera aimed down the lane and general-view cameras over the plaza. Each site was surveyed for lane geometry, power, network and drainage before that design was adapted to the location.

Rollout ran region by region so crews could complete a cluster of sites, commission each lane and move on. Cameras across garage levels and lots were tied into the same recording platform, so Metropolis staff review an incident at any location the same way.

Metropolis sites run on consistent equipment with documented layouts, which keeps both operation and repair straightforward. When a loop fails or a gate arm gets hit, Harb technicians know the site before they arrive. New locations are added on the same design.
